Talk about democracy and whether or not we see it as a dream, an ideal still to be achieved, instead of a system that's been working for 150 years. Defending democracy effectively in the midst of a cold war; knowing what it is and defending it as it is, not as we think it ought to be. Acknowledged limitations of democracy. A look at democracy and its limitations. A look at politicians and our system of government. The Canada Election Act as a hypocritical document and how that is so. The nature of the voter, and of the politician. The disillusion suffered by an elected politician. Handicaps that we voters impose on our public men. The end product of our democratic machine.
